The two airports of principal interest to you are Elmas Airport in Cagliari (CAG) and Fertilia Airport in Alghero (AHO). While Elmas is a 10 minute cab ride from the apartment, Fertilia is a 2 hour drive by hire car.

The best connected airport to Sardinia from the UK is undoubtedly Stansted Airport. From here you can fly directly to Cagliari with EasyJet, or directly into Alghero with Ryanair. Flight times are in the order of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
